Rotherham United travel to Merseyside today to take on Premier League Everton in the second round of the Carabao Cup.

The Millers got through to this round by beating Wigan at home while this is Everton’s first forage into the competition this season.

Everton go into tonight’s game with five points from three games and in eighth place in the Premier League. Rotherham are currently fifteenth in the Championship having beaten Millwall at the New York Stadium at the weekend.

Rotherham’s last away game was a two-nil loss at Elland Road while the Toffees won their only home league game of the season against Southampton.

Both sides could ring the changes this evening with defenders Lucas Digne, Bernard and Jonjoe Kenny looking to get a first start. Definitely out are Brazilian Richarlison and Phil Jagielka who are both serving suspensions for red cards.

Millers Boss Paul Warne has said he will make ‘loads of changes’ for the game which will allow the other players to be fresh for the game at Wigan on Saturday. Warney is hoping to give Billy Jones, who has been out injured, some game time this evening. He also said that whatever happens the players and fans have got to enjoy the experience.

The man in the middle for this evenings game is Graham Scott from Oxfordshire. This game will be using VAR which Kevin Friend from Leicester is in charge of.

Rotherham travel to the DW Stadium on Saturday, 1st September to take on Wigan Athletic.
