Rotherham United have another player in their sights in St Johnstone’s Jamie McCart with the deal being subject to his contract expiration at McDiarmid Park.

The twenty-four year old defender came through the youth ranks with Celtic his only first team appearances being in the Scottish League Cup in 2016. While with the Hoops Jamie had loan spells with Inverness Caledonian Thistles, St Mirren and Alloa Athletic before signing for the Thistles in 2018. In his first season at the Caledonian Stadium he helped them to the Scottish Division One Play-Off Final, where they lost out to Dundee United. January 2020 saw him move to St Johnstone and went on to make one hundred and five appearances for the Saints, winning a Scottish FA Cup medal in the 2020/1 season.

He has caps for Scotland at U19 and U21 level.

Jamie has yet to have a medical with the Millers and will need to get FA, EFL international clearance before he is signed.
