Rotherham United Manager Steve Evans is not letting the grass grow under his feet with him making the fifth signing of the summer by fetching in Sean Raggett from Portsmouth – subject to EFL and FA ratification.

Born in Gillingham this isn’t the centre-backs first time with the Millers as he had a loan spell at the New York Stadium in 2018 when he played ten Championship and Cup games.

A product of the Gillingham youth scheme, Sean began his career with non-league Dover Athletic having loan spells with Sittingbourne, Herne Bay and Whitstable Town before he caught the eye of Lincoln City signing for them in August 2016 helping them back into the Football League in his first season. The following summer he joined Norwich City but was straight back at Sincil Bank for the start of the season on loan. He played a couple of games for the Canaries in the Championship before having his loan spell at the New York Stadium which ended early due to an ankle problem. The following season saw him out on loan with Pompey who he signed a permanent deal with in August 2020. Sean has made over two hundred appearances for Portsmouth, forty-four of those last season.

Sean has one cap for an England C team.

All at Vital Rotherham welcome Sean back to the New York Stadium.
