The seventy-one League Football clubs have approved the English Football League’s plan to settle the season . The EFL statement says that, if needed, final divisional placings will be determined on unweighted points per game, there will be promotion and relegation while play-offs will be played but will only involve four teams.

This would, of course, mean that Rotherham United alongside Coventry City would be promoted – but nothing has yet been finally settled and clubs are meeting by division later today to either opt to curtail the 2019/20 season or to resume playing it.

The Championship have already decided to re-start the season with the date for that being 20th June while the League Two clubs have said they want to season to finish now.

So, although things are on the move (at last) there are still the I’s to dot and the T’s to cross.

But, for Millers fans things are looking positive.
