Rotherham United lost one-nil at Swansea yesterday – it could have been worse or, in fact, the Millers might have got a draw. It was just one of those games.

Swansea had a much better first half than us but, in my humble opinion, I thought we had the best of the second half – especially for an away team and one who have four of their ‘first team’ players off with bad injuries.

I don’t know about anyone else but to see the possession stats saying fifty-four per cent for the hosts to the Millers forty-six per cent, I was pretty pleased, more so when you think that at half-time it was sixty-five/thirty-five (and I think the thirty-five was being quite kind!)

There was just one difference in corners with Swansea having eight to our seven with both sides getting sixty per cent in the passing accuracy, Rotherham getting fifty-one per cent accuracy in our opponents half.

The Swans had eleven shots at goal, four of which were on target while the Millers had three on target from eight shots. We gave away eleven tackles and Swansea gave away sixteen both sides having one player booked each.

Before this game I’d gone for a draw – but that’s more because I can never go for a Millers loss – and I wasn’t hopeful. Yes, we lost, the first half was poor but it was changed at half-time and it was a lot better. This time two years ago we’d have given up, this year we didn’t.
