A Look At The Stats – Millers v Stanley

|

Rotherham United are still top of League One after a Ben Wiles goal in time added on and one earlier from Freddie Ladapo, gave them a two-one win against a very resilient Accrington Stanley and poor weather conditions.

The Millers had most of the possession the stats telling us that they had fifty-five per cent to Stanley’s forty-five and had seven more corners, with nine, than the hosts.

Rotherham also won more of the battles in the air which were, according to the stats, a sixty-two per cent win while all our duels success rate came out at sixty per cent. The passing accuracy was pretty even all over the pitch with crossing accuracy for the Millers being just thirty-eight per cent but I am presuming a lot of that was due to the winds.

Both sides had three shots on target, Rotherham from fourteen shots and Accrington from ten shots while the hosts conceded seventeen fouls to the Millers twelve.

It wasn’t a pretty game, especially in the first half, but, with the weather I think it was to be expected. The freezing one and a half thousand Millers fans went home jubilant. Let’s hope it’s the same on Tuesday when we travel to take on Coventry City who are breathing down our shoulders in second place.
