A Look At The Millers v Bees Stats

Rotherham United lost their first game of a busy December yesterday evening when Brentford beat them two-nil at the New York Stadium.

The stats say that possession percentage went sixty-three to thirty-seven to the visitors and although I do realise that the Bees had more possession than the Millers I’m not sure it was by that much.

Duel success rate comes out at fifty/fifty with Rotherham won more in the air – sixty-nine per cent to thirty-one per cent and we also had six corners to our opponents three.

The Millers passing accuracy in our opponents half was fifty-one per cent and sixty-three per cent overall. We had eight shots at goal of which two were on target while Brentford had four on target from ten shots.

While we conceded twenty-one fouls, the Bees conceded ten and we had three yellow cards and one red while the visitors had none.

Mikel Miller had only been on the pitch eleven minutes although it was enough for him to get a yellow card, give away a penalty and get a second yellow. Another spot-kick we gave away which resulted in another easy goal for an opposition side.

I do think we had a pretty good first half but Brentford were superior for the last forty-five minutes and probably, on reflection, deserved to take all three points.
